It has been a whirlwind since the week of Thanksgiving! Oh how I love this time of year. The Christmas music, driving around the
neighborhood to see all the lights, the excitement in the kids eyes as we set
up the Christmas tree – it all just gives me the warm and fuzzies.
Thanksgiving was fun. I was grateful to be able to spend the
holiday with my family and rent a house in the Poconos for the weekend. The kids had a great time. When Brody woke up on Thanksgiving
morning he looked at me and said “Mom where are all my friends?!” I had
to explain that everyone was still sleeping but all his friends would be awake
soon enough. It made me giggle. He followed his cousin AJ around everywhere. And for some reason he kept calling him
PJ! Haha. AJ would let Brody hold the video game remote
control and Brody would think he was actually playing. Adorable!
Ava found herself playing on the pool table. She had this
fascination with rolling the balls into the pockets. And on occasion throwing them! Scary! She also had fun playing with the air hockey
table. I got this cute video of Ava and Gigi playing together.
The food was deeelish.
We had a slight mishap early on – but, don’t you worry a grease fire won’t
rain on our parade. Luckily it was out
quickly, the turkey was saved, and no one was hurt!
The day after Thanksgiving we took a drive into downtown
Stroudsburg for the local Christmas tree lighting. Sounds like fun, right? Haha. Well in theory yes. And if it wasn’t for the frigid temp it
probably would have been fabulous. But
after waiting for 45 min, hearing the same Christmas carols over and over, and
listening to aunt gail yell “ we want the mayor” (the mayor was going to do the count down for the tree lighting) –
we decided to call it quits and head back to the house. And what do you know, as we were leaving, the
tree got lit, and we saw santa on the fire truck about a block away.
The rest of the weekend was full of lots of lounging, eating
leftovers and catching up with everyone.
It was so very nice to have Alisa and Mike back in town for this
celebration. It had been over a year since we had seen them! It’s crazy how that feels like such a long
time during the year, but when looking back it doesn’t – if that makes any
sense. Regardless, it was a fantabulous
reunion!
